trees

I finally got my birthday gift from Tim….my fruit trees!  He bought me a lemon, lime, orange, tangerine and banana tree.  Of course they all will have to stay inside the majority of the year.  We weren’t sure how they were going to arrive and in what shape they were going to be in so I held off buying pots.  We were thinking they would be much bigger than they actually are.  So I found these pots at Pamida (our local WalMart wanna be) that are these beautiful colors!  I put the banana in the yellow pot, the lime in the lime green pot, the orange in the orange pot, the lemon in a purple pot and the tangerine in a blue pot.  I am hoping that they do well.  They need it to be nice and warm and it is now cold again here in Indiana….I guess I will have to put a heater by them!

WOW!!  What an amazing last couple of days!  Tuesday, my birthday :), our friend Grant moved in, we had dinner with Betsy and Clark and Grant and then prepped for our meeting with Dave Nixon on Wednesday.  while we prepped we had some really good conversation about going “green” and what that looks like.  Wednesday was amazing!  We met with Dave who holds LOTS of wisdom about community living (there is much more wisdom on many different subjects in him than were shown to us I am sure of it!)  I want to pick his brain!  We came away excited and encouraged again that this is God’s doing and not our own.  We stopped while in Cincy and got Pansies, came home and planted them…they look beautiful down our walkway!  Then we got a call from some people who raise Alpaca’s that live right around the corner, we had forgotten that we were supposed to go see their herd at 6pm…it was now 7!  So we dropped our gardening gear and rushed over.  Alpaca’s are GREAT!  I think we want one or two!  Now we just have to convince the town of Oldenburg that it will be ok!

Jumping into mid life

So in three days I turn 40. Am I sad? No! Am I happy? Yes! Is my hair turning gray? A few are. It feels for me like life is about to take an exciting turn. I was describing to my sister a couple weeks ago that I feel as though I am on a cliff wanting to jump, but waiting for Jesus to tell me to go. Will I hear Him say “go”?

Hello world!

Well, I am trying to figure out how to move my blog at blogspot to here…so bear with me!
